Seeking inspiration from South Asian culture, Haya uses unconventional techniques to create one-off pieces of jewellery. She uses jewellery as a medium to explore the landscapes of her mind in addition to bridging the gap between traditional South Asian and contemporary jewellery. Haya’s soap collection is a recreation of her mother’s heirloom neckpieces, rings, and earrings. The pieces have been created using Pears, Dove and home-made soap. The soap jewellery plays on the idea of making timeless pieces ephemeral as they disintegrate with each use.
